The “I’ve met” list
Growing up, my dad always told me stories about these amazing celebrities that he ran into constantly right in his own home town: Brooklyn, NY. It used to fascinate me that he would point out someone on my TV screen that I idolized and just say “I remember the first time I bumped into Eddie Murphy…” I was obsessed with his stories and continuously milked him for details on what they were like in real life. Of course, I’ve grown up a lot since then, met more celebrities than I can remember sometimes and am on own path to work in the industry someday. So needless to say, I’m more than aware that celebrities are just regular people. Still, when I hear a celebrity that inspires me is in the area, I don’t pass up on an opportunity to have my moment with them. And I’d probably be lying if I said there aren’t ANY actors/musicians I internally fangirl over. But perhaps the most fulfilling part about it all is to go back and tell my stories to other fans who haven’t gotten an opportunity to meet that idol of theirs and are just dying to know what they’re like.
Which is why I thought I’d construct this masterlist of people I’ve had the opportunity to meet! If you see an idol of yours on here, feel free to message me and ask all about HOW I got to meet them, my best advice on how YOU can meet them, and just how they were in person :) I’ll continue to add people as I remember/meet new ones. So, without further adieu..
Who I’ve met:
(* means I’ve met them more than once)
Sean Patrick Flanery
Richard Speight Jr*
Lou Taylor Pucci
Billie Joe Armstrong
Eveyone in New Found Glory
Everyone in Bowling For Soup
Robert Downey Jr.
Jon Bon Jovi
And uh, Max Bemis held my hand one time.
I was close enough to see Paul McCartney and Paul Rudds sweat drip down their faces when my friends and I saw a Saturday Night Live dress rehearsal. We saw McCartney joke around with the techs before skits started and then later prepare his instruments. We saw Paul Rudd get quickly changed multiple times and then later headbang to Paul McCarntneys mashup of “Give Peace A Chance/A Day In The Life” in the crowd like one of the fans (because he was one.) It was pretty great.
Welp, there ya have it! My master list. Fun times. Feel free to bother me about details if you’re ever really curious about an experience. Or don’t. Either or. You have free will and stuff. That is all. Love you creepily.
SPIKE AND CORDELIA MAKING OUT. VERY SUPERNATURAL, INDEED.
Holy new messages, Batman!
The stories are coming, I promise! The craziness is finally winding down! Here’s what I’m gunna do! I’m finishing my Misha master post now. Once I’m done with that it’s all up to you. Message me the name of an actor/actress/panel/tv show cast/event/whatever and I will tell you all about my experience with it/them. I already live tweeted everything that happened so people who want details about specific things just have to ask and I will make a post. I don’t wanna clog up everyone’s dash with stuff no one would be interested in, yanno?
Here are the people I spent anywhere from two to fifteen minutes with: Jim Beaver, Mark Sheppard, Samantha Ferris, Julie Mcniven, Christopher Heyerdahl, Julie Benz, Michael Rosenbaum, James Marsters, Nicholas Brendon, Wil Wheaton, Sam Huntington, Sam Witwer, Felicia Day, Chris Gauthier, Colin Ferguson, Christopher Lloyd, Robert Englund, Tom Felton, Rider Strong, Brett Spiner, and Lou Ferrigno. I only high fived Sean Patrick Flannery and briefly said hi to (and wasn’t a fan of) Eliza Dushku so I can’t really make a post about them. I will gladly talk about everything else. Sound good? Alright…I’m ready.
Rape my ask box.
HOME FROM DRAGONCON
I’M BACK, BABYDOLL. And I have nothing to do today but tell you guys ALL. ABOUT. IT. And there is some GOOD stuff, too. This weekend was absolutely flawless and I don’t know HOW I got so lucky. I had extended time with everyone I wanted to meet and even people I didn’t care for meeting originally but was glad I did. And I barely spent a dime!
But I need feedback from you guys…there’s A LOT of stuff. Like, my 3 days of Misha alone would get it’s own slot. That’s why I mostly tweeted everything for people who just wanted highlights but there was a lot more to each. So what would you guys rather me do… a.) make master posts about EACH DAY, b.) master posts about EACH PERSON, c.) master posts about each CAST (including their panel if I saw it), d.) VIDEO explanations of each person, e.) VIDEO explanations of each cast (including their panel if I saw it), or f.) just let you guys message me a name/panel/event and if you want a written response or video response to it with my experience?
I’M EXPLODING WITH STORIEEEESSS I CAN’T EVENNNN.
To the people asking me if I’m sure I’m playing actual Misha in WWF
Yes, I watched him plug my name into his phone and we played some of it while we were together. His username is NOT “MishaCollins” like everyone thinks it is. He said that person is a fake. His name is actually much more of what you’d expect a Misha username to be, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to tell people it or not? I’ll ask him tomorrow when I see him.
Basically, I hung out with Mish so many times this weekend that he calls me by name when he see’s me and every time he’s like “dude, why the hell are you taking so long to make your move? I can’t play words with friends at this slow pace it’s KILLING me!” And I’m like “Mish…I’M BEATING YOU!” And he says he has a strategy and that “you’re going down in flames, you’ll see.”
I promise you I’ll give you the full stories along with my stories about my experience with the rest of the cast, Wil Wheaton, Sam Huntington, Felicia Day, Michael Rosenbaum, Julie Benz, Christopher Lloyd, James Marsters, Nicholas Brendon, Rider Strong and a few more that I met/panels I saw. TONIGHT, with pictures, when I get back home. I promise. If you wanna know a little bit about each of those stories check my Twitter: @Jenna_Ration.
Okay I haven’t given you all updates today because I actually haven’t sat down until this second. We left Jersey at 11:30pm last night, made one stop for delicious waffles and arrived in Atlanta at about 1:30 this afternoon. (Much earlier than expected.) I know, what a drive. But it’s okay because I love road trips like Misha loves wormstaches. As soon as we got here we saw a line of people sporting Supernatural, Dr. Horrible, Dr. Who, Firefly and superhero tshirts galore wrapped around a building. Yeah, we were in the right place. Or so we thought.
After an hour and a half of waiting in a seemingly endless line in the 90 degree ‘Hotlanta’ weather with NO shade, a guy decides to finally do his job and comes down the line to make sure we’re all there for ‘registration.’ That’s cool, only me and my best friend weren’t there for registration. We were there for WILL CALL. Turns out, there IS NO LINE for Will Call. We walked out of the line we didn’t belong in to the Will Call line and literally had our badges in seconds. We weren’t really bummed about wasted time, though. We got to meet a lot of cool people and ultimately we were too focused on NOT having two more hours of waiting in the sun. Pretty lucky that we found out at all, if ya ask me. The next few hours were spent scoping the hotels out, eating our favorite meals at Hard Rock, and highlighting our weekend schedules like mad men. (It was NOT unlike the scene from A Beautiful Mind.)
Long story short…we got here earlier than expected, finished our schedules with minimum stress, found out although I’m missing my own casts Rocky Horror for this weekend I get to meet other Rocky casts here at a huge live performance Saturday, and I’m slowly realizing the reality of being in the presence of Misha, James, Mark, Wil, and a million other cool people in mere hours. I’ll keep you guys filled in on awesome shizz as the weekend goes on and if you asked me for a certain autograph I wrote you and the celeb down so I will be on the hunt. I have a good feeling about them, luck seems to be on our side already.

Lovely followers… READ.
I’m headed to Atlanta tonight for DragonCon. MEANING, although it’s not going to be ALL I post, I will be live blogging a lot of it for the next few days. Just off the top of my head I know I’ll be giving updates on the Supernatural panel, the Buffy panel, and cool stories about any other fun panels/events/celebs I may run into.
That being said, if you have NO INTEREST in Supernatural and/or the cast, Buffy and/or the cast, Back to the Future, Dr. Horrible, Rocky Horror, Wil Wheaton, etc… I PROMISE I will not over blog about it and that I will also continue to blog whatever other stuff I usually blog that 600+ of you continue to stick around for (film stuff, music stuff, other shows…whatever, I don’t know.) I will refrain from posting about EVERY SINGLE little thing I fangirl about. That’s what my Twitter is for ;) I usually live tweet every ridiculous thing down to Misha’s breathing pattern for stuff like this and live blog the bigger, more important/informative/humorous updates that I think a large portion of you guys would actually be into.
Sound good? Right on. Thank you for continuing to be the greatest followers in the history of followers. I love you all in the creepiest way possible. Because creeper love is deeper love.
Guess who completely forgot about DragonCon?
And is even moreexcited now to hug Misha Collins, James Marsters, Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, Michael Rosenbaum, Mark Sheppard and other people I can’t think of at the moment in just 7 days?
If you guessed THIS girl, you are correct!
Spike: Hey look at me, I’m not asking you for anything. When I say ‘I love you’ it’s not because I want you or ‘cause I can’t have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are. What you do. How you try. I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You’re a hell of a woman. You’re the one, Buffy.
2010. Put it in the books.
2010, you will be missed. The most memorable parts of my year, in the order of when they happened, not in order of favoritism:
-Started with an amazing winter trip in which I did not get any better at skiing but still had at incredible time.
-Saw James Marsters (Spike from Buffy) sing in a room no bigger than an average college classroom.
-Met entire SNL cast on several different occasions, most importantly, hanging out with Bill Hader<3
-Met Jimmy Fallon.
-Adv. Drama, Adv. Creative Writing, and Video 2: my definition of senior year.
-Prom. Fun times.
-Opened up to the brilliantly twisted world of Dexter Morgan.
-Saw Bon Jovi, yet again. Twice maybe? I go to too many concerts…
-Had another summer of getting paid to run around with kids. Camp 2010, FTW.
-Supernatural season 5 finale…yeah, it was good enough to get it’s own interval of greatness on this list.
-Saw Green Day in concert a fourth time. (With AFI.) One of the best concerts of my life.
-Had some amazing adventures with some amazing people. Senior trip, scavenger hunts, BLBF weekend, 7/11 runs, New Hope, 30 Hour Famine, LOVE park, etc…
-Went to an 80’s themed prom in the city. Truly felt like I took my DeLorean to the past. Epic.
-Saw American Idiot on Broadway 4 times, met the cast, and got a hug/kiss/signature from Billie Joe Armstrong at one of the talkbacks<333
-Saw Say Anything, Motion City Soundtrack & Saves The Day where I held hands with one of my biggest idols, Max Bemis.
-Saw favorite comedian: Mike Birbiglia. With Nick Kroll, who was also hilarious.
-Got an awesome writing internship which has recently opened me up to a world of opportunity.
-Went to the dress rehearsal of SNL where I was 15 ft from Paul McCartney and Paul Rudd. Incredible. All of it. The sleeping outside SNL, being in the studio, just…every second of it.
-Everything I could’ve wanted and more for Christmas including my plane ticket for Peurto Rico for Feb., a new flat screen, bluray dvd player, dvds, and sinfully comfy pj pants.
-Tweeted by John Cusack and Rider Strong<3 It’s the little things…
-Ending the year with a party in NY with a gigantic chunk of my awesome family. Great way to end/kick off the year.
I’m pretty sure this year just tops 2009, but I have NO idea how I’m gonna top 2010 with 2011. I’m very stoked for the challenge though.
Biggest goals of the year: make a huge dent in my book and/or screenplay-if not finish one, turn my writing internship into a full time job, transfer to the school I wanna go to, hang on the set of Supernatural in Vancouver with the cast, road trip to Texas, see John Mayer live, watch the entire series of LOST, and skydive at least once. It’s gonna be a good year. I can feel it.
